In 1991, Griesser Holding AG bought a majority shareholding in the German awning specialist weinor. Since then, weinor has been part of the Griesser Group, which – with the two brands, Griesser and weinor – is one of the largest manufacturers of blinds, rolling shutters and awnings in Europe.
One company – two brands.
Griesser was founded in 1882. The family-run holding company, based in Aadorf, is now in its fourth generation and is managed by Walter Strässle. The holding company includes two brands: Griesser (for blinds and rolling shutters) and weinor (for awnings). However both companies have a separate, independent market presence. Griesser has two production sites in Aadorf (Switzerland) and Nice (France), while weinor owns two plants in its native Germany, in Cologne and Madgeburg.
Innovative spirit and quality are taken very seriously by both Griesser and weinor. Thanks to tradition and experience, the holding company is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of sun protection systems.
